Attorney Joris Deene

Joris Deene graduated magna cum laude in 2002 with a law degree from the University of Ghent. He also pursued a postgraduate degree in International Copyright at the University of Amsterdam (IVIR).

On 1 September 2002, he started at the law firm Storme, Leroy, Van Parys and joined Everest Attorneys in 2011.

Moreover, from 2002 to 2010, Joris Deene was an assistant at the University of Ghent in the field of computer law, intellectual property rights and private international law. He also conducted research at the Max-Planck-Institut für Geistiges Eigentum, Wettbewerbs- und Steuerrecht in Munich in 2005. He has authored over one hundred legal publications to his credit.

Since 2018, Joris Deene has been a partner at Everest Lawyers (Team IP/TMT).

In addition to being a lawyer, Joris Deene is also a recognized third-party decision maker for .be domain name disputes (CEPINA).

He is also a guest lecturer at Ghent University for the subject of copyright.

Moreover, he was appointed by the Minister of Economy to the Intellectual Property Council (FPS Economy)., and is also a member of the Belgian copyright association and the Benelux association for trademark and design law.
